A Swallows official, when asked about Jali’s new role, told KickOff, “It’s nothing hectic. It was just a good experience for AJ to train with the boys. He is still much focused on his career at Swallows.” This indicates that while Jali is exploring coaching, he remains committed to his playing career at Swallows.
In addition to this, Jali, who represented the Buccaneers between 2007 and 2011, has expressed his aspiration to coach in the Premier Soccer League.

Club Legend Dreaming of Coaching Bucs
Kamwendo shared his ambitions with SoccerLaduma saying, “Whether it’s as an assistant coach at a Premiership side or I can start as a head coach at a Motsepe Foundation side. I am well qualified to coach there.” He further added that he respects the requirements of coaching in South Africa and had prepared himself accordingly before declaring his readiness.
“Now, I can say ‘I am ready’. I would be very happy if I can be given the chance at my former team Orlando Pirates but I wouldn’t mind coaching any other team,” Kamwendo stated, expressing his willingness to return to his former team but also keeping options open for other teams.
