Dieketseng Mnisi, a seasoned South African actress, has graced the entertainment industry for over four decades. She is renowned for her roles as Masechaba Moletsane in the SABC2 sitcom Stokvel and Nontombi “Mantuli” Seakamela in the SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam. Her acting prowess extends to numerous other TV shows and movies, including Yizo Yizo, Zone 14, Intersexions, and The Queen.

Early Life and Pursuit of Education
Born on 9 August 1961 in Soweto, Dieketseng Mnisi grew up during the challenging times of apartheid. However, these circumstances did not deter her from chasing her dream of becoming an actress. She joined various theatre groups, including the renowned Gibson Kente play, where she refined her acting skills and nurtured her passion for the stage.
Dieketseng’s educational journey began at Dowling Avenue Primary School in Westbury, followed by Hoerskool Die Burger in Roodepoort. She later pursued motion picture studies at AFDA, specializing in film editing.
Acting Career and Accolades
Dieketseng Mnisi embarked on her career at the tender age of 16, hosting a talk show for Soweto TV. She transitioned to acting and made her debut in the SABC1 drama series Yizo Yizo in 1999, portraying the role of a teacher. Her acting journey continued with appearances in TV shows like Zone 14 and The Throne.
Dieketseng’s breakthrough came when she secured the role of Masechaba Moletsane, a pastor’s wife, in the SABC2 sitcom Stokvel, which aired from 2007 to 2012. Her comedic and charismatic performance won the hearts of many viewers and earned her the Golden Horn Award for Best Actress in a Comedy in 2010.
Currently, Dieketseng plays the role of Nontombi “Mantuli” Seakamela, a mother of three children, in the SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam, which she joined in 2013. Her portrayal of a strong and loving woman navigating various challenges and conflicts in her family and community has garnered praise and recognition. She has been nominated for several awards, including the SAFTA for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Soap in 2017.
Dieketseng’s acting repertoire also includes movies such as The Forgotten Kingdom, The Tokoloshe, and Happiness is a Four-Letter Word. She has lent her voice to radio and TV commercials as well.
Personal Life and Interests
Dieketseng Mnisi leads a fulfilling personal life. She is married and blessed with four children: two sons and two daughters. A devoted Christian, she is a member of the Zion Christian Church. She is also a soccer enthusiast and supports the Kaizer Chiefs team.
Dieketseng enjoys reading, cooking, and gardening in her leisure time. She has a penchant for travel and exploring new cultures, having visited countries such as Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, and Mauritius.
