Hungani Ndlovu Biography

Hungani Malcolm Ndlovu, born on June 19, 1994, in Mpumalanga, South Africa, is a multi-talented individual known for his work as an actor, dancer, MC, presenter, and DJ. He is also known by his stage name, DJ Grizi. His career, which spans from 2001 to the present, has seen him take on a variety of roles in the entertainment industry.

Personal Life

Born to parents of the Tsonga community in Mpumalanga, South Africa, Hungani has always been proud of his heritage. In 2019, he married Stephanie Sandows, a fellow South African actress and TV presenter. The couple celebrated their wedding in a private ceremony on February 23, 2019.

Career

Hungani’s career began in 2001 when he was just seven years old. Initially, he was passionate about dancing, but he later shifted his focus to acting. To pursue his acting career, he moved to the USA and graduated in HipHop Choreography from Flii’Cademy, Los Angeles. During his studies, he trained under renowned choreographer, FliiStylz for three years. He also earned an Associate Degree in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy.

Upon returning to South Africa, Hungani kick-started his acting career. His first significant role was in the film, Memoir of an Honest Voice in 2014, which later won the Best Short Film award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2015. In 2016, he joined the cast of the popular television serial Scandal! and played the role of ‘Romeo’. He also appeared in the film Because You are Black and played the lead role in the music video Black Coffee.

In addition to his acting career, Hungani is also the co-founder of an NPO coaching center, ‘The Ndlovu Foundation’, which helps youth achieve their goals through dancing and drama. He is also a pioneer in establishing an art development studio, Strong Attitudes Nurture Success Group (SANS).

In 2016, he appeared in two stage plays: A Raisin in the Sun and A Night with Sam. In 2018, he acted in the film Sipho and then HEKS in 2019.

In July 2023, SABC 1’s Skeem Saam announced that Hungani would be replacing Cornet Mamabolo as T’bose (Thabo Maputla).
