Jessica Mbangeni, a renowned poet and writer, cries out against industry killings! She is calling on the government to take decisive action to put an end to this alarming trend. At 45 years old, this influential figure from Nqamakwe in the Eastern Cape is determined to use her voice to spread this crucial message.
Mbangeni firmly believes in the power of artists to unite people across the globe. As a peace ambassador, she feels it is her duty to disseminate messages of peace and unity. She told Daily Sun about the vulnerability of celebrities, who often find themselves exposed to business deals that compromise their credibility and boost their egos, only to have their lives tragically cut short by those with nothing to lose.
Mbangeni’s Vision for the Arts and Her Role as a Mentor
Mbangeni has a vision for the Sports, Arts and Culture Department to collaborate with the Tourism Department and the Department of Trade and Industry. She wants these entities to be deliberate in their efforts to develop artists, much like the initiatives seen in Asia and Europe. Having started on a clean slate, Mbangeni has embraced her role as a businesswoman.
As a mentor, Mbangeni guides artists and helps them tap into opportunities that expose them to both local and international markets. She advocates for more peace ambassadors to help combat gender-based violence, human trafficking, and global wars. She envisions a world of peace and tranquillity and encourages all nations to create peace-building artworks.
Mbangeni’s Call to Action and Her Personal Journey
Mbangeni calls on influential figures like Elon Musk to promote the values of Ubuntu through platforms like Twitter, aka X, and to act as agents of peace. She believes that influential world leaders who make mistakes should confess and apologize for the destruction they’ve caused.
Mbangeni has poured her advocacy into her music, working on an album titled “World Peace,” where she sings about the horrors of human trafficking. This work is deeply personal to her, as it is inspired by a tragic incident involving her sister, who was abducted and murdered in Mbangeni, KZN, in 2000. Mbangeni plans to embark on a “World Peace” tour across different countries, spreading her message of peace and unity through her music.
