Kaizer Chiefs appoints ead coach

Despite the rumors of a new appointment, former Amakhosi coach and captain, Patrick Mabedi, believes that the Chiefs need not look any further. According to Mabedi, Johnson is the right person for the job. He told SoccerLaduma, “Johnson is the right coach. He is the right person for the job. The team should not look any further and disturb what he is building. You see he believes in the mixture of youth and experience which you can see is already working for the team.”

Johnson’s Confidence in the Team’s Quality

Johnson himself has expressed confidence in the quality of the team. In a conversation with iDiskiTimes, he said, “Look, I think we have enough quality in the team. I just think they have not been given enough opportunities as individuals and I think the way we assess them, or the way we analyze them as part of the Chiefs family, needs to be a little better between myself and my coaching staff. Because then we can give them more, they can be more positive towards themselves. If you did come to Kaizer Chiefs as an average player, then we will make you a better player. I think we need to get in their skin right now and there are good players.”
