, born on the 22nd of May, 1988, is a renowned South African actor, television presenter, and model. His journey to fame began when he became a presenter on the SABC 1 entertainment and variety TV show, Selimathunzi. His acting career took off with his role in the soap opera The River, where he continues to showcase his talent.

Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, Lunga’s early life was filled with experiences that shaped his future. He attended Maritzburg College, where he shared classrooms with future South African actor, Zenzelisphesihle Xulu, and singer Mario Ogle. After completing his schooling, he pursued a diploma in Town Planning. However, he soon realized that this career path was not for him.

Career Beginnings

Lunga relocated to Johannesburg with dreams of making it big in the television industry. His first professional gig was in a Coca-Cola commercial. In August 2010, he participated in a Calvin Klein modeling competition titled “Represent South Africa”. His victory in this competition brought him into the public eye, paving the way for his television career.

Rise to Fame

In 2011, Lunga entered a nationwide search for the next presenter of Selimathunzi, a competition initiated to find a replacement for Kaos Matu. Continued Success

Lunga’s career continued to flourish in 2013 when he appeared on the entertainment countdown show 10 over 10. Later that year, he was selected as a co-presenter on SABC 1’s official New Year’s Eve show, Come Duze, a role he held for three years.

In 2014, Lunga was chosen as a co-presenter on the SABC 3 reality TV show, Man Cave, alongside Janez Vermeiren. The show featured male contestants competing in adventurous tasks. Lunga remained as the official co-host for all six seasons of the show, which concluded in 2017.

In 2017, Lunga announced his departure from his role as co-presenter on Selimathunzi, with his last broadcast airing on 28 November 2017. The following year, he made his debut acting role as Lindani on M-net’s original production, The River, aired on Dstv’s 1Magic channel. From early 2021 until the show’s conclusion in September 2022, he portrayed Sims Zulu on the M-Net original production, Legacy.
