Lungelo has been a part of the entertainment industry since 2017. Her breakthrough came when she landed a lead role in the Mzansi Magic drama series eHostela, where she portrayed Khethiwe, a young woman aspiring to become a maskandi star.
She later joined the cast of the Mzansi Original Movie Themba Lam, a story about a man who sponsors his lover’s academics after landing a high-paying commercial, only for the tables to turn.
In 2020, Lungelo starred as Ntokozo, a high school student, in the Mzansi Magic drama series Mzali Wam. Her character becomes entangled in an elaborate human trafficking ring involving her biological mother. The series first aired on 1Magic on January 2, 2021. Her performance earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Simon Mabhunu Sabela Film and Television Awards.
Lingashoni
In the 1Magic series Lingashoni, Lungelo plays the role of Poppy Tshabalala, Puleng’s sister. Her character is part of a family that disrupts Puleng’s life after some years. Despite her mother’s desire for her to date wealthy men, Poppy chooses to follow her heart, much to her mother’s dismay.
Personal Life
In 2019, Lungelo was involved in a car accident that nearly took her life. She sustained a spinal injury that kept her off work for several months. However, she eventually recovered and resumed her work.
In November 2021, Lungelo purchased a Mercedes Benz car worth R1 million, sharing her joy on social media along with pictures of her new vehicle.
Controversy
In May 2021, Lungelo was allegedly physically attacked by a fellow actress on the set of her new movie in the large township of Vosloorus in Gauteng.
