Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has made a bold declaration to financially back Hamas if his party emerges victorious in the 2024 elections.
Malema has been vocal in his criticism of Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he labels as a “number one terrorist.” He accuses Netanyahu of committing genocide in Palestine under the guise of attacking Hamas, while in reality, he asserts that innocent women and children are being targeted.

Defense of Hamas
Malema defends the actions of Hamas, likening their struggle to that of former South African President Nelson Mandela. He argues that when oppressed, the only option is to fight back. He commends Hamas for their resistance against Israel and draws parallels between their fight for freedom and the apartheid oppression once faced by South Africans.
Criticism of Those Condemning Hamas
Malema criticizes those who condemn Hamas, stating that the ANC’s uMkhonto WeSizwe military wing once operated in a similar fashion. He argues that international support played a crucial role in South Africa’s liberation from apartheid and likens this to the support needed by Hamas.

Call to EFF Supporters
Malema urges EFF supporters to stand against evil and support Palestinian liberation efforts. He criticizes the bombing of hospitals and the killing of innocent children. He also calls out the ANC for failing to order the Israeli ambassador to leave the country, accusing them of doing it for PR.
Malema calls on corporations like McDonald’s and Woolworths to distance themselves from Israel. He demands that McDonald’s in South Africa issue a statement distancing themselves from their counterparts in Israel, who he accuses of feeding Israeli soldiers. He also demands that Woolworths remove any products from their shelves that originate from Israel.
