Wiseman Mncube Biography
Wiseman Mncube, born in 1990 (33-34 years old as of the time of writing), is a multi-talented individual hailing from Durban, South Africa. He stands at a height of 5 feet 7 inches (170 cm) and is a proud father of two children.
Education
Mncube is an alumnus of the Durban University of Technology, where he completed his National Diploma in Drama in 2011.
Family
Wiseman Mncube was born into a family of five siblings in Ulundi, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. His elder brother, Ntando Mncube, is known for his role as “Bhekile” in the serial Ifalakhe. His younger brother, Omega, is also an actor and has played the popular role of “Phelelani” on Uzalo.

Personal Life
Mncube experienced a personal tragedy in 2017 when his wife passed away. He currently lives with his daughter, Lwandle. In February 2021, he welcomed another child, a son.
Career
Early Career
Mncube’s acting career began as a theatre actor during his time at the Durban University of Technology. He has been part of notable theatre plays such as Nothing But the Truth, Horn of Sorrow, Meet Bro Six Two, Culture Clash, Amambazo The Musical, Have We Been Heard, and Mashu the Musical.
In November 2012, he wrote and directed the play The Weeping Candle, which received critical acclaim. Mncube won the awards for Best Production and Best Script at the isiGcawu Festival. In the same year, he won The Best Newcomer Award at the Mercury Theatre Awards as well as Best Actor at Musho Festival.
Recognition and Awards
His performance in the play Giving Birth to my Father won him the Standard Bank Ovation Award. In 2014, he won three National Arts Festival (NAF) awards in Grahamstown. In 2015, he was selected as one of the directors of the Musho Festival.
Television and Film Career
Mncube made his television debut in 2016 with the drama serial The Kingdom-UKhakhayi, playing the role of “Mfanufikile”. After gaining popularity, he joined the e.tv telenovela Gold Diggers. In 2018, he acted in the TV Mini Series Liberty, playing the role of “Reggie”. In 2019, he appeared in the television serial EHostela, playing the role of “Jama”. In 2020, he won the Best Actor Award in the TV Drama category at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) for this role. In the same year, he won another award at the Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards.
He then took on the supporting role of “Sibonelo” on the soap opera Uzalo. In mid-2019, he acted in the feature film The Turning Son, playing the role of “Vusi Ndlovu”, and then acted in the 2020 film Rage of a Lioness, playing the role of “Siya”.

Musical Career
Apart from acting, Mncube is also a singer. He released the gqom song Pick & Choose along with Vukani Khoza.
